LVDY (pronounced LADY) is a Colorado-based indie-folk duo comprised of Kathleen Hooper and Aubrey Mable. Their magical sound is an ideal recipe of singer-songwriter, folk, dance, pop, and electronic synth, with powerful melodies and harmonies that speak to the senses. Their ethereal harmonies, warmth and meaningful lyrics find inspiration in the beauty of the outdoors as they draw influence from artists like Maggie Rogers, Rising Appalachia, Joseph and Sara Bareilles.
Aubrey and Kathleen met in 2012 while studying abroad in Dunedin, New Zealand and almost instantly became the best of friends. They bonded over their dreams of traveling the world sharing their music and began playing together in their chilly NZ flats. When they returned to the States, they played on front porches of college houses as well as in the welcoming homes of friends and family. What began as late-night kitchen and living room jam sessions, open mics and groovy covers turned into an outpouring of original tunes and the official birth of LVDY.
LVDY’s debut EP, Electricity was produced by Dreamers Delight and arrived in February of 2019. During their first year of pursuing music full-time, the LVDIES were named the Best Folk Band/Artist by Denver’s renowned music and arts publication 303 Magazine and toured the country playing nearly 100 shows and festivals at renowned venues, including Denver’s famous Lost Lake, Larimer Lounge, The Marquis Theater and The Oriental, plus Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), The Hotel Café (L.A.) and House of Blues Chicago while gathering a dedicated and connected audience. LVDY has supported incredible acts like powerhouse vocalist LÉON, the incredible sister trio Joseph and Morgan Saint. They have since put out several singles and a collection of remixes and sold out their first three headlining shows.
With a loyal following lovingly known as the LVDYMOB, Aubrey and Kathleen recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising just over $50,000. They will release a series of singles at the end of 2020 leading up to their first full-length album in early 2021.
