SunnySide Up are Tim and Harry, a father and son duo, with additional musical friends. Their music is influenced by their love of reggae, world music or as they say "any music with sunshine running through it." They write much of the music they perform and have released a single "Slow down". Their music always features a uke, as they love this underrated gem of an instrument, which seems to shout sunshine and happiness. By playing styles of music people wouldn't expect to hear on the ukulele, they constantly bust people's image of the uke as being the underdog, only good for strumming. The lads love playing impromptu in pubs and cafes, in fact anywhere. They both say "We just love to sing and play it makes us so happy, sharing our music with others". In 2017 they started taking their happy, musical vibe into the community when they started up “Sunnyside Up Ukulele/Singing workshops. Working with people suffering with many mental health issues along with Alzheimer’s and dementia, they found singing and playing the ukulele really brought relief and had a positive effect on people’s health, as well as bringing huge amounts of entertainment. Along with working in the community they now play as a band and take their musical workshops to festivals, cafes, wine bars and restaurants, bringing bags of fun to any event they go to.
